The time slot for an oral presentation is 20 minutes, including discussions.
Your talk should therefore not exceed 15 minutes, allowing 4 minutes for questions/answers, and 1 minute to switch over to the next speaker. If you run over, you will be stopped by your session chair. You can find your presentation time slot from the MMSP 2007 Technical Program.
The room for oral presentations will be equipped with a laptop or PC running Windows XP. Microsoft PowerPoint and Acrobat Reader will be available on the machine.
Except for special circumstances, you will not be allowed to use your own laptop to present your talk. You must upload your presentation onto the server beforehand. The workshop staff must have your presentation on the server no later than the beginning of the oral session that precedes the oral session including your presentation. Oral paper presenters are strongly encouraged to upload their presentations well in advance of these deadlines. You are encouraged to do so using a USB memory stick. You will be also able to (and should) confirm that your presentation will be properly displayed by the equipment in the lecture hall at that time.
If your presentation needs any special fonts, e.g. for phonetic symbols or for languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc., we recommend that you consider generating a PDF document in place of (or in addition to) your PowerPoint presentation.
In any case, please contact your session chairperson 20 minutes before the start of your oral session in the room where the session takes place.
